On Wednesday 24th February, Chorlton Park joined thousands of other schools nationwide by taking part in National Sing-Up Day.  The whole school from nursery to Year 6, staff and parents too, enjoyed singing together at the end of the school day.  Thank you to Mrs Haycocks for organising the event within Chorlton Park.

Pictures to follow soon!

As promised a picture of the Year 6 musicians who performed in assembly on Friday 29th January.

Wednesday the 24th of February is National Sing-Up Day!  On this day, the children at Chorlton Park will be joining schools across the country in a nationwide event in a Guinness World Record attempt.  The purpose of this event is to promote Sing-Up which is a government initiative to encourage children to sing more.

At 3pm on 24th February, Foundation Stage and Year 1 will gather in the infant hall for a sing-song, Year 2-6 in the dining hall and and nursery children will stay in the nursery to sing.  When you come to collect your children, you are invited to come and join in with us before you take them home at the usual time of 3.20pm.

This should be a really exciting event, the children  have been busy practising the songs, so please support us by arriving slightly early on this day so that you can sing along with us!

A big well done to all the children from Year 6 that performed in assembly on Friday 29th January and a big well done to the children from Year 4 who performed in assembly on Friday 5th February.  It takes a lot of courage to stand up and perform to the school and you all did it so well, there’s a lot of musical talent at Chorlton Park! I took some photographs of you performing and I’ll be putting them on the music blog soon, so keep an eye out!

Year 4 it’s your turn to play in assembly on Friday 5th February! So those of you that have lessons either inside or outside of school, we’d love to hear you play. Make sure you let your class teacher know.

Year 6 it’s your turn to play in assembly this Friday (29th January). If you learn a musical instrument either inside or outside of school and would like to play in assembly on Friday then make sure you speak to your class teacher about it.
We’re looking forward to hearing all the musical talent in Year 6!

Here are a few musical games for you to play!

Have fun!
